Legislated by the Ontario government, WSIB is responsible for administering the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA), which provides compensation and no-fault insurance for Ontario workplaces. As such, this important public agency provides a vital service to the workers and employers of Ontario. WSIB exists to help workers in Ontario. When an injury or illness happens on the job, WSIB moves quickly to provide wage-loss benefits, medical coverage and support to help people get back to work. Funded by businesses, the company also provides no-fault collective liability insurance and access to industry-specific health and safety information.
