Nova Scotia Legal Aid delivers legal aid services in offices in criminal, family and social justice law located throughout Nova Scotia. Offices are staffed by lawyers and support/specialized staff. Nova Scotia Legal Aid provides some level of help to all Nova Scotians with a focus on providing support for the most vulnerable and historically disadvantaged, including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Immigrants and economically disadvantaged persons. Examples of our focus include our Indigenous Justice Initiative and our focus on Social Justice to assist with those whose income or housing are at risk. We are committed to helping overcome historical barriers to access to justice.
