Manager, Transportation Operations
Do you love leading teams in a dynamic environment? Reporting to the Senior Manager, Transportation, you will manage the daily operations and activities for the international and domestic transportation of product from vendor to customer. You are an expert in all modes of transportation, be knowledgeable of customs regulations, transportation requirements and freight market conditions to support LCBO’s position. Improve the delivery of product and financial results.

About the Role
- Monitor and analyze carrier and consolidator performance ensuring partners meet agreed upon standards
- Work with Transportation Planning team to support action plans for corrective action when performance falls below expectation
- Develop and maintain port and location codes for freight terms that ensures accuracy of purchase orders and routing letters
- Prepare and circulate reports and correspondence
- Provide expertise and knowledge of how to consolidate and route product from around the world
- Make effective decisions on expediting product to meet emergency needs that are both timely and cost effective
- Assist with the preparation and assessment of tenders as required. Ensure smooth transitions are executed, as changes occur in service providers
- Maintain and enhance strong business relationships with external contacts that ensure LCBO’s interests are protected, promoted, and convey honesty and fairness
- Provide advice and suggested solutions to internal departments on transportation related issues
About You
- Completion of post-secondary education in Supply Chain or Business program
- 5+ year’s experience in an International and Domestic transportation and distribution environment
- Knowledge of Freight Payment and Claims practices
- Strong technical, administrative, and human relations skills required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to be creative, innovative
- Self-motivated and can work independently
