Your Opportunity
One Permanent Full Time Position.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Purchasing, Inventory, and Facilities, our Facilities Manager is accountable for the safe and reliable performance of our Head Office facility to support corporate and other area’s facilities’ needs.
You will contribute to our team by

Managing the day-to-day operations of the Capital Power Office Head Office in EPCOR Tower, Edmonton.

Collaborating with: building management, contractors; maintenance and operations services, contract services while managing and reporting the facilities operating budget and forecast.

Identifying the purchasing of equipment and supplies.

Managing the day-to-day facilities requirements related to the Edmonton office (EPCOR Tower) which includes, but not limited to: office furniture, office suppliers, employee moves, scheduling facilities preventative maintenance and overseeing the completion of the work.

Participating in designing/implementing collaborative workspaces.

Playing a key role in monitoring and increasing customer satisfaction of the facilities related services.

Supervising in-house and contractor personnel.

Managing costs related to facility expenditures.

Working with senior management to ensure the budgetary targets for capital and operating budgets are met.

Interfacing with department managers for the development and implementation of corporate facilities standards.

Working with business units to plan and facilitate office restructuring, space planning and evaluation of storage needs.

Maintaining the appearance of the office, office services support and building management.

Actively participating in the Office Safety Committee.

Inspecting, observing and acting on any facilities related issues that come forward.

Ensuring on-going effective positioning and appropriate relationships between other positions, including senior-level contacts, in Supply Chain Management and other service recipients across the organization.

Managing the relationship with external contractors to ensure that work performed by contractors is well-planned, properly scheduled, and monitored and coaching them to maintain a professional and customer focused attitude.
What you will bring to the role
Education
-
Completed Facilities Management Certificate (FMC) or equivalent would be considered an asset.

Formal designations such as:
-
FMC – Facilities Management Certificate
-
RPA – Real Property Administrator
-
FMP – Facilities Management Program
-
CFM – Certified Facility Manager
-
Or any other accounting, supply chain or facilities management related designation.
-
Skills and Experience
-
3 to 5 years’ experience related to managing facilities.
-
Supply Chain Management experience is considered an asset.
-
People Management and client relationship skills.
-
Project Management appreciation skills.
-
Ability to plan and manage within budget and time constraints.
-
Experience with managing multiple vendors and small capital projects.
-
Mechanical and hands-on experience related to office furnishing and appliances.
-
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
-
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and determine work plans for staff.
-
Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
-
Proven organizational, time management and problem solving skills.
-
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is an asset.
-
Valid AB Driver’s license and a vehicle.
Working Conditions:

On-site office position, with the ability to work from home 2-days per month.
