Capital Power is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our passionate and innovative Engineering team.
As a CMMS Specialist you will be a Subject Matter Expert for the Computerized Maintenance Management System for the Organization. This role has business ownership of the maintenance aspects of the system and business processes as specifically related to maintenance activities for all facilities.
You will contribute to our team by
Acting as the SME for highly complex and diverse CMMS processes at Capital Power facilities to enable the timely, efficient, execution of maintenance work.
Participating and leading EAM projects where they impact the CMMS functionality.
Providing work management training to staff to ensure that they understand both the maintenance management processes and the use of the CMMS modules within the EAM.
Working closely with the EAM System Manager to develop and deliver system enhancements, road map items, and maintain business processes to lower ongoing operating cost.
Providing insight and input into the technological evolution of CMMS practices and recommends their adoption as appropriate to both the EAM System Manager and Facility Managers.
Resolving diverse, complex and unique problems related to CMMS systems and maintenance processes.
Providing recommendations for different and improved approaches to the utilization of the CMMS and the processes for maintenance across the Capital Power fleet.
Handling the risk that competing needs may inadvertently have on the CMMS functions of the EAM. Working to balance the needs of other SMEs with the best interests of the CMMS.
Incorporating HSE awareness into all functions, and acting as a role model for HSE behavior by adhering to both corporate and site specific requirements at all times.
Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with Facility Managers, Operations and Maintenance, Planners, EAM SMEs, and Admin staff to ensure the needs of the facilities are addressed in the implementation and evolution of the CMMS.
Point contact for knowledge of external developments and system evolution as related to the CMMS. Maintains active, positive relationships with external vendors and industry peers.
Coaching and mentoring junior staff in enhanced Work Management techniques to develop a more detailed understanding of maintenance processes.
What you will bring to the role
Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or a related field.
Education equivalency may be considered.
5-10 years of maintenance experience in an operating facility setting.
Skilled in maintenance management and planning, including major maintenance activities such as shutdowns or turnarounds.
Knowledge of change management processes, including practical skills related to the implementation of change at remote sites.
Experience with Maximo will be an asset.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with about 10% travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug & alcohol test is required.
